Meet the Winemaker: Leo Hansen of Leo Steen Wines

Join us for a special evening with Leo Hansen of Leo Steen Wines. We will be pouring a selection of Leo's current releases, available by the glass, bottle or as a guided pairing.Leo, a Danish-born sommelier turned winemaker, fell in love with California during his time as wine director of Copenhagen's first Michelin-starred restaurant, Kong Hans. He moved to California in 1999. After 5 years of working in local wineries by day and as a sommelier at night, he founded his small-lot winery - Leo Steen Wines. Leo, in part thanks to his classically trained European palate, showed a softer, more nuanced side to Californian wines at a time when bold was in fashion. He is an outspoken champion of California Chenin Blanc, but works with a number of amazing organic & biodynamic vineyards all over the state to bring us incredible Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc,  Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and more. This are some of the most thoughtful, authentic wines to be found anywhere in the state.Leo will be on the floor at Copra from 5:00 until 8:30pm. There will be three ways to partake:- A Guided Flight: a selection of wines poured and presented by Leo himself. Enjoy with your meal or just a snack.- A 5-Course Prix Fixe Menu + Pairings by Leo: enjoy a coursed menu from Copra's kitchen with pairings by Leo. - Join us for a Glass or a Bottle! We will have a special menu of Leo's wines on offer all night.Guided flights and 5-course menus are limited - reservations are recommended. All are welcome to join for a glass or bottle.
